The Wieting Theatre Guild is a dedicated group of members who work together in an effort to support and maintain the Wieting Theatre. Their
responsibilities include: monitoring movies, general building maintenance, scheduling and booking movies, and scheduling volunteer workers. Pauline Reinig, although not a Guild member, acts as Treasurer
and records all income and expenditures.
We tend to take for granted these devoted and hardworking individuals. We want to reassure them of their importance and our gratitude for their hours
spent toward the achievement of a common goal - that of keeping the Wieting Theatre facility available to our children and all adults in our communities. Again - Many Thanks!
The Volunteers
A number of dedicated volunteers donate their time and effort to help the Guild with theatre operations and
maintenance. Volunteers take tickets, run the concession window, work in the projection booth, and assist with
fund raising events. The Guild members and the community appreciate the hard work and dedication of these individuals.
The Trustees
As set out by the Articles of Incorporation of the Wieting Opera House Company of Toledo, Iowa, on September
13, 1912, the Board of Trustees, consisting of not less than five members, shall have the authority to adapt and
pass all necessary by-laws for the carrying out of the original plan of this corporation - the purpose of which is to
take title, own, manage and conduct the Wieting Opera House - to conserve, lease, rent, manage and conduct
said property in any and all lawful ways, and to invest, expend and accumulate, pay out and distribute these moneys as set out by the Articles of Incorporation.
Members of the Board of Trustees hold office until they resign or are removed by a two-thirds majority vote of
the Board of Trustees. In the event of a vacancy, said Board will fill the vacancy by a majority vote.
The responsibilities as laid down by the original Wieting Opera House Company are very complex and can be
rather restricting to the Board, as they try to manage the Wieting Theatre in a profitable manner.
